Purposeful Activity Coordinator

The Purposeful Activity Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting our team at Parklea Correctional Centre. Key responsibilities include managing records related to purposeful activities, ensuring that work-related skills, life choices, recreation, and education programs are developed and effectively communicated to inmates.

  • Develop and maintain effective systems and processes aligned with legislative and policy requirements for the efficient operation of the Purposeful Activity function.
  • Organise and coordinate purposeful activities to achieve objectives within required timeframes.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other functional areas of PKA for any necessary input into Purposeful Activity processes and documentation.
  • Update and maintain purposeful activity records, logs, forms, and other documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and edit a range of written materials on behalf of the Purposeful Activity function for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and address enquiries, including escalated ones, to resolve them in a timely and professional manner.

Prior experience in a corrections role is essential, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software programs. A flexible approach and ability to manage difficult situations are also required. Additionally, the successful candidate will need to pass a medical assessment, obtain state clearances, and meet vaccination requirements.
