Senior Health and Safety Advisor

The Opportunity:

NES Fircroft is partnering with a leading owner-operator to fill a senior health and safety advisor position on an ongoing contract basis. This role will be part of the major projects team and will assist with health and safety matters for a large-scale project.

The Role:

This is a site-based position with a 2/1 FIFO roster. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements and will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct health and safety audits and inspections, providing guidance to other staff as to best practice.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety obligations and acts, putting in place effective risks and controls to prevent incidents and breaches of obligations.
  • Investigate and report on all health and safety incidents.
  • Train and advise other staff on best health and safety practice to minimize hazards.
  • Inspect, monitor, and evaluate health and safety systems and processes to ensure continued adherence to best practices.

The Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • A strong understanding of Australian OHS legislation.
  • Strong experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in the resources sector.
  • Experience working client side with strong contractor management experience is ideal.
