Heavy Diesel Maintenance Technician

The Heavy Diesel Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of equipment, working in both breakdown and planned maintenance capacity.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Complete allocated maintenance tasks and carry out breakdowns and diagnosis to a high standard, while working safely both independently and as part of a team.
  • Follow documented maintenance procedures and instructions.
  • Operate mobile equipment, light vehicles, and ancillary equipment.
  • Undertake housekeeping and inspections.
  • Participate in prestarts and other operational meetings as required.
  • Undertake training as required to gain new skills.
  • Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence.
  • Work with computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, 1SAP, and FIORI.

Required Skills
  • Experience working in a maintenance team will be highly desirable.
  • Forklift HRWL desirable, or willing to obtain.
  • Experience working on Underground Mobile Equipment including Sandvik, Caterpillar, Normet, Volvo, and Epiroc.
  • Previous mining experience is essential, with Underground experience desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge in safe work practices.
  • Great communication and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to work in multiple environments including surface and underground Workshops and between multiple work locations and sites.
