We are seeking a skilled Yacht Engineer to join our team in East Gippsland, Australia.

Job Description:

This is a full-time permanent position that involves designing and installing engineering systems on luxury yachts. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering systems including hydraulics, plumbing, air conditioning, gas installations, engine/gearbox, and final drive installations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and install engineering systems on luxury yachts in accordance with current drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other trades during yacht build to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Thorough Knowledge: Mechanical engineering systems including hydraulics, plumbing, air conditioning, gas installations, engine/gearbox, and final drive installations.
  • Previous Experience: Marine Engineering experience required.
  • Certifications: City & Guilds qualifications (minimum).
  • Skills: Ability to work on own initiative, safely use hand tools, power tools, and bench-mounted tools, read and interpret Engineering drawings and written specifications.
  • Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail attitude with a right-first-time approach.
Additional Requirements:

In addition to the above requirements, you will also need:

  • Metal Fabrication Skills: Experience of metal fabrication including TIG welding.
  • Yacht Industry Knowledge: Broad understanding of marine engineering installations within yacht or recreational craft building industry.
  • Initiative and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other trades and take initiative when needed.
