The Women's and Children's Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neonatal Nurse/Midwife to join their team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to provide compassionate, person-centred care to neonates and their families in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Job Description:
We are looking for a registered nurse/midwife with clinical competence in neonatal or relevant nursing/midwifery practice, aligned with national safety and quality healthcare standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to a safe and effective work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering compassionate, person-centred nursing or midwifery care to neonates and their families, assessing needs and coordinating individualized care plans.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure seamless, holistic care and support for neonatal patients.
- Supporting the clinical team during shifts, including mentoring junior staff and contributing to a safe, effective work environment.
- Participating actively in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Providing education and support to patients, families, students, and new staff to promote health and professional development within the neonatal setting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Midwife, holding a current practising certificate.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in neonatal or relevant nursing/midwifery practice, aligned with national safety and quality healthcare standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to prioritise, problem-solve, and manage conflict effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to person- and family-centred care, with a strong consumer-focused approach in all clinical interactions.
- Sound knowledge of legislation and standards relevant to nursing/midwifery practice, including EEO, ethics, WHS, and quality management.
