Electrical Engineer - High Voltage and Low Voltage Distribution Substations

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with experience in designing high-voltage and low-voltage distribution substations, incorporating protection systems and earthing solutions.

  • This role involves performing detailed electrical studies, including short circuit analysis, load flow, protection grading, power factor correction, harmonic analysis, transformer sizing, and arc flash assessments.
  • You will be responsible for developing site electrical distribution systems, covering switchroom layouts, switchboard designs, cable routing, motor starters, UPS systems, generators, and transformers.
  • A key aspect of this position is delivering compliant electrical designs for hazardous areas, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • You will also participate in equipment specification, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of electrical systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful projects.

Your expertise in electrical consulting and design will enable you to apply senior-level skills effectively within our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067, and other relevant design codes and statutory regulations.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (Engineers Australia accredited) or related field.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards it.
  • Strong experience in Electrical engineering, including complex project execution and innovative problem-solving.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
