Senior Defence Data Specialist

Data Managers play a pivotal role in the Defence Sector, overseeing data governance and utilisation. This position requires expertise in Defence data standards and artefacts, as well as proficiency in document and data management systems.
The ideal candidate will bring Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment. Key skills include data governance, lifecycle management, configuration control, and a sound understanding of DEF(AUST) 5692, MIL-STD-31000, and technical data packages.
Key Responsibilities:- Data Framework Development: Design, implement, and maintain effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and integrity across technical, engineering, and logistics domains.
- Data Governance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and information flow.
- Data Repositories: Support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories with appropriate metadata, version control, and access protocols.
