Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our central team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function, managing a team of 6, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and awards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Management: Manage the end-to-end payroll procedures, processing, and month-end and EOFY processes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support a team of 6 payroll staff, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and awards in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Reporting: Provide ad-hoc reporting and maintain payroll system and data integrity.
  • Timekeeping: Verify timekeeping information for all employees, including running checks to avoid errors and over/underpayments.
  • Legislation and Awards: Understand and apply relevant legislation and awards in both Australia and New Zealand.
  • Training and Development: Proactively approach operational training development and delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in full-function payroll management across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Software: Experience with Meridian MicrOpay software and proficiency in using Excel, SharePoint, and other Microsoft programs.
  • Leadership: Established experience working within a large-sized organization with proven ability in leading a team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Confidentiality: High level of confidentiality, integrity, and sensitivity is critical in this role.
