Underwriting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Underwriting Manager to lead our Care Liability team at Pen Underwriting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for team leadership, distribution and sales strategy, and owning our Care Liability product offering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Care Liability team, setting direction and managing workflow across the team.
- Support and develop team members, drive engagement through regular communication, and foster a strong trading culture.
- Maintain your own book and actively build and maintain broker relationships, monitor business performance, identify new products and growth areas, and stay updated on regulatory changes affecting the aged and disability sectors.
- Collaborate with other teams to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong leadership capabilities, technical underwriting skills, relationship-building abilities, integrity, and a passion for service and quality.
- Experience in the healthcare or care sectors, with a strong understanding of commercial insurance underwriting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
- A strong understanding of regulatory changes affecting the aged and disability sectors.
