About the Role

The Dental Assistant will provide essential support to dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, reprocessing instruments, assisting patients during procedures, and educating patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality chair-side assistance to dental practitioners.
  • Maintain quality control of dental equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Use LogiQC quality management systems to contribute to a high level of quality management at ATSICHS.
  • Foster a positive working environment to achieve results consistent with workplace values.
  • Demonstrate competence in using clinical software systems, technology, and desktop applications.
  • Pursue ongoing continuous quality improvement processes to enhance clinical service provision.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with colleagues, which promote cooperation, trust, respect, and staff development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to undertake a Certificate III in Dental Assisting as a minimum qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
  • Capacity to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
  • Effective listening, influencing, and persuasive skills.
  • Current and valid National Police Check.
  • Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to apply.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
