About the Role

Challenger Limited is seeking an experienced sales manager to lead the Institutional Client Solutions team in Sydney. As Director, Institutional Client Solutions, you will be responsible for the sales and coverage strategy for the Investment Solutions Pillar.

You will work in partnership with a close-knit team of sales specialists, who each lead their own specialist pillar, including retirement solution partnerships and defined benefit de-risking solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:

Sales Strategy Development

Develop and execute Challenger's sales strategy for the Investment Solutions Pillar, expanding our presence with insurance companies, superannuation funds, and multi-managers, while retaining existing clients and seeking new opportunities in a fast-evolving market.

Client Engagement

Build and nurture relationships with institutional clients, understanding their needs and delivering bespoke solutions. Your ability to engage in meaningful, outcome-focused conversations will be key to success.

Market Insight and Innovation

Keep your finger on the pulse of market trends, identifying opportunities to deliver innovative solutions to clients. You will play a critical role in the ideation and creation of new offerings, partnering with teams across the business to deliver outcomes that meet client needs.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with your colleagues across the Retirement pillar and Defined Benefit pillar, ensuring seamless integration across the three pillars. You will foster a collaborative culture, ensuring that everyone is aligned and pulling together to meet shared goals.

To succeed in this role, you will have 10+ years of experience in delivering investment solutions, sales strategy, or a related field, with a proven ability to drive results. You will have the ability to lead the investment solutions sales strategy, originate sales opportunities with insurance companies, super funds, and multi-managers, and coordinate sales efforts of the Investment Pillar with the existing Institutional Client Solutions Team.

As well as:

  • Proven track record of success in leading sales initiatives and achieving targets.
  • Significant experience in building and maintaining long-term client relationships, taking a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking ability, developing innovative strategies backed by data and market insights to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
  • Strong presentation skills to both internal and external audiences.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to thrive in a small, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience working with insurance companies and superannuation funds.
  • Hold a CFA or a Master of Applied Finance.
