The Data Center Operations Trainee program offers a comprehensive 12-month development experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Participants will gain hands-on operational experience through on-site shadowing and weekly classroom sessions led by experienced instructors.
- Assist the management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all work performed is in accordance with established practices and local legislation.
- Conduct analyses and prepare reports on data center infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets as directed.
- Learn and contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with the installation of racks and provision of power/cooling within constraints.
- Be involved in routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and more.
- Assist with design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
- Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure and inventory asset management as directed.
- Participate in construction and operational meetings as required.
- Comply with work orders and review contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
At large-scale data centers, you will be involved in:
- Providing support and assistance to the onsite operations team in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service-Level Agreements (SLA).
- Deep diving alarms and incidents on complex mission-critical equipment to find root causes.
- Managing and leading incident response, providing updates to senior leadership using incoming critical data to empower decision making.
- Performing rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management.
- Providing operational readings and key performance indicators to maintain uptime.
- Managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with established practices and local legislation.
- Overseeing maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
