Technical Support Specialist - Data Center Operations

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our team in providing technical support for data center operations on an on-call basis. This role is ideal for skilled technicians who are available for flexible, intermittent work in equipment management and hands-on technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to equipment staging and delivery requests on a flexible schedule
  • Ensuring the safe and secure storage and staging of IT hardware and equipment
  • Delivering hardware accurately and timely to client sites
  • Performing hardware replacements and upgrades in data center environments with minimal downtime
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing faulty equipment to ensure efficient operations
  • Adhering to safety protocols and best practices in data center operations
  • Maintaining detailed records of equipment movements, issues, and resolutions
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure seamless support

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Support Specialist or in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of data center equipment, IT hardware, and associated technologies
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule and respond to urgent requests
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with data center safety procedures and protocols
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work schedules
  • Physical fitness to handle equipment and perform tasks within data center environments
