Ventia is seeking a Senior Emergency Response Trainer to join their Fire and Rescue operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in firefighting and first aid, with a strong background in training and people management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Deliver Training Programs: Develop and deliver emergency response training programs that focus on contractual requirements.
  2. Develop Curriculum Guidelines: Create departmental-specific curriculum guidelines aligned with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.
  3. Support Assessment Tool Development: Assist in the development of assessment tools to ensure proper systems, governance, and processes are in place for ongoing skills and competency maintenance.
  4. Create Recognition and Application Criteria: Design methods and assessment tools for recognizing prior learning and their application criteria.
  5. Contribute to Training Curriculum: Contribute to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures at state and national levels for emergency response topics.
  6. Oversee Fire Development Program: Oversee the Fire Development Program and facilitate succession planning for the department's fire management needs.
  7. Coordinate Formal Training: Coordinate and deliver formal training across various locations in Australia.
  8. Support Fire Crews: Support Fire Crews with planning and conducting team training activities aligned with emergency scenarios and drills.
  9. Audit and Report Qualifications: Assist the training team with mapping and verifying qualifications through the LMS system, including regular reporting and auditing of individual profiles.
  10. Maintain Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with operational and emergency procedures documents as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Background in firefighting and first aid.
  2. Evidence matrix of skills and competencies supporting firefighting background.
  3. Familiarity with emergency services and operational excellence practices.
  4. Experience in training and people management.
  5. Experience in high-risk and diverse emergency response organizations is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  1. P-UA50120 Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management)
  2. P-UA30622 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
  3. T-AE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Diploma of Vocational Education & Training desirable)
  4. P-UA FIR205 Respond to aviation incident (specialist)
  5. P-UA FIR305 Respond to aviation incidents (general)
  6. H-LTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid or higher qualification
  7. Valid Driver's License
  8. Australian citizenship.
