About the opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our workshop/technical teams, ensuring timely execution, budget compliance, and quality standards are met.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and leading a team of people, allocating workloads, and overseeing day-to-day operations in the workshop. The role also involves coordinating resources and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely completion, quality standards are met.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Effectively manage employee productivity and performance metrics.
- Develop and implement service schedules and plans to meet customer requirements.
- Review output of work to ensure quality standards are met and implemented.
- Ensure service work is completed in line with communicated deadlines.
- Drive improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop staff through coaching, mentoring, and training programs.
- Coordinate safety and risk management activities to maintain a safe workplace environment.
- Liaise with other internal customer departments to ensure customer needs are met and exceeded.

Skills, qualifications, and experience- Minimum 10-15 years experience in Manufacturing, O&G, or Mining industries.
- Relevant trade qualifications, such as Mechanical, Hydraulic Fitter, or Heavy diesel mechanic.
- Proven track record in managing and leading high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen.
- Solid understanding of the Mechanical/Hydraulics industry.
- Ability to drive cultural change through a group of employees.
- Tertiary Qualification in Business or Management desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
- Basic to moderate PC skills (MS Word, Excel, and in-house ERP system).
- Current driver's license and forklift ticket required.
