Job Description

As a key contributor to the International Wordings team, you will play an integral role in supporting the underwriting business across all product lines. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate technical drafting skills and advisory services to underwriters, clients, and brokers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and reviewing existing products, new products, and competitors' products. They will also create and innovate by working closely with stakeholders to build new insurance products or refine/expand existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analysing and reviewing complex risks, including analysis and explanation of individual clauses right through to entire product wordings.
  • Creating and innovating new insurance products or refining/ expanding existing ones.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Wordings team, Legal Department, and beyond to deliver on team goals and service delivery requirements.
  • Sharing best practice solutions across the wider business and delivering presentations to underwriting teams.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret and analyse insurance clause requests and draft clear and robust insurance clauses.
  • Confidence to deliver group-driven wording mandates alongside own wording solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business, legal, and compliance needs for individual insurance classes.
  • In-depth understanding of standard clauses used in the Australian market and class-specific wording structures.
  • Ability to plan and self-manage workload, work under pressure, adhere to deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgement while maintaining strong teamwork and communication skills.
