
Leadership Opportunities for Strategic Visionaries

This role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of emergency and disaster responses to local communities in need across Australia.
- Lead the planning and development of an evidence-based national framework and operating model for meeting the needs of local communities across Australia in relation to emergency and disaster response.
- Oversee and be accountable for all phases of disaster responses in the Australia Territory, which includes planning, training, and resourcing, pre-disaster, first response, recovery operations and community building.
- Establish processes that clearly define expected outcomes required of managers and programs and ensure accountability for planned outcomes.
- Be a leader in the sector nationally and represent the interests of impacted communities and The Salvation Army in various national forums.
- Collaborate with managers within The Salvation Army to provide integrated and consistent service delivery and contribute to national strategy.
- Liaise with Communications and Public Relations team relative to promotion, fundraising, publicity during and after incidents.
- Develop and implement effective emergency and disaster response strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build strong relationships and achieve strategic objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, or social work.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role in a not-for-profit organization.
- Proven track record of successful project management and leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
