About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill this exciting position. The First Nations Mentor will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to students, particularly those who identify as First Nations and Torres Strait Islander people.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents and other staff members. A strong commitment to promoting the values of Unity, Love and Truth within the College community is essential.
- This is an 18 Hour per week Term Time and Fixed Term position commencing January 2025.
- The successful applicant will operate within the Catholic educational environment and culture, and be supportive of the mission of the College.
Key Responsibilities
The First Nations Mentor will be responsible for:
- Providing support and guidance to students, particularly those who identify as First Nations and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Working closely with teachers, parents and other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
- Promoting the values of Unity, Love and Truth within the College community.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- A commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
- A Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- A commitment to Safeguarding and adherence to the Archdiocese of Brisbane's standards of conduct for workers.
