We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Practitioner to join our team.

The role involves:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, needs, and risks in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Developing and implementing tailored care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Providing timely support during crises to ensure safety and stability for individuals and families.
  • Advocating for clients to access necessary resources and services that promote well-being and resilience.
  • Facilitating evidence-based parenting programs and workshops that empower parents to provide effective care and support.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records in compliance with organisational standards and regulations.
  • Ensuring services are culturally safe and inclusive, respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of clients.

You will need:

  • Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection, family support, or community services, with a focus on promoting positive outcomes and preventing harm.
  • Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Cultural competence to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
