About the Job

The Data Security Specialist is a key technical and leadership position responsible for strategic security oversight of data storage, processing, presentation, and governance layers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Leadership: Lead and manage the Data Security function, ensuring visibility, delivery, and enhancement of data platforms.
  • Cybersecurity Incident Response: Develop and implement action plans in response to cybersecurity events. Escalate and coordinate the identification and response to potential malicious activities, including recovery and forensic evidence with relevant stakeholders.
  • Data Platform Management: Oversee the security posture of data platforms, including data storage, transmission, processing, presentation, and represent security posture in data governance layers.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and other relevant bodies to enhance cyber resilience.
  • Threat Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate emerging data and cybersecurity threats and trends, implementing appropriate measures to address them.
  • Security Awareness: Promote a culture of security awareness and education throughout the organization, ensuring all staff understand their roles in maintaining security.
