Crisis Response Specialist

The VoCCR pilot service focuses on addressing current gaps faced by victim-survivors needing immediate practical support after experiencing an interpersonal violent crime. Our aim is to provide efficient short-term crisis assistance, such as coordinating emergency transport and accommodation, addressing basic needs, including food, clothing, home safety upgrades and more, within the first 72 hours of the incident.
We also provide warm referrals for long-term support, which may involve legal, health, financial, and housing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage inbound calls with compassion and provide psychological first aid and emotional support
- Undertake risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and guide service users through warm referral pathways
- Travel to designated locations within the Logan area to offer in-person crisis support and coordinate essential practical needs, if required
Requirements:
- Diploma or tertiary qualification in community services, counseling, or similar
- At least two years' experience in the community services sector
- Demonstrated experience working with people who have been impacted by interpersonal violence
- Able to manage competing tasks within agreed timeframes and build, maintain, and enhance relationships with stakeholders
- Good cultural responsiveness and commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
