Job Description

The Mental Health Dual Diagnosis Peer Worker is a key role in enhancing outcomes for individuals with a dual diagnosis.

This position is based in the Emergency Department and works closely with the Mental Health Emergency Teams to provide advocacy and support while linking consumers/carers, clinicians and services to improve the journey and treatment outcomes.

The successful applicant will have lived experience of mental health and drug and/or alcohol issues and be able to develop strong and effective stakeholder partnerships, including liaison with families and/or carers.

Travel across the district and work on weekends and after hours may be required.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Certificate IV in Peer Work or willingness to undertake the Certificate IV in Peer Work
  • Valid NSW Drivers Licence
