Pregnancy Care Specialist

About the Role

The pregnancy care specialist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate maternity care in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Providing comprehensive maternity care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods;
  • Supporting and educating new mothers about breastfeeding, newborn care, and postnatal recovery;
  • Collaborating with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver multidisciplinary care;
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate maternity care for patients.
  2. Provide comprehensive maternity care during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
  3. Support and educate new mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postnatal recovery.
  4. Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver multidisciplinary care.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum two years' relevant post-registration qualifications/experience;
  • Demonstrated experience working in the postnatal midwifery setting;
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient-centred care;
  • Demonstrated professional manner when involved in emergency situations;
  • Demonstrated experience in antenatal midwifery setting (desirable).
