About the Role

Nasdaq is seeking a highly skilled Lead Calypso Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for implementing the Calypso system and assisting customers in meeting their technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers to test and implement the Calypso system, ensuring successful go-live.
  • Assist developers in understanding API requirements for extending the Calypso system and building interfaces with external systems.
  • Train users and customer developers on the basic use of the system, focusing on technical setup.
  • Install and configure the system, including Java JRE, relational databases, and event-driven frameworks.
  • Work closely with Calypso business analysts and core development teams to code prototypes and ensure business requirements are met.
  • Manage technical issues and track timelines for technical deliverables, keeping customers informed of progress.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in systems or technical analysis, preferably in the capital markets industry.
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial software development in Java, C++, Swing, JDBC, RMI, J2EE, Linux, Sybase, XML.
  • Strong GUI and server-side development skills.
  • Excellent object-oriented analysis, design, and development skills.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including experience with Sybase and/or Oracle.
  • Preference for domain experience in developing software or implementing software in support of asset classes such as credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income, or FX.
  • Experience designing/building front-to-back capital markets trading systems is highly valued.
  • Strong business skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with end-users on business operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with patience and willingness to educate and train customers.
  • Ability to travel, as required.
