Senior Business Development Executive

We are looking for an experienced 'hunter' to drive new business, customer acquisition, and border expansion for Haylix as we transition from a build phase to a growth mode.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in defining and driving growth areas based on existing relationships, cloud experience, and industry knowledge. They should possess strong communication skills, be able to think critically when making plans, and demonstrate the ability to execute a particular strategy.
The focus industries include Retail, Finance, Healthcare, and Tourism. The ideal team member would have been successful operating within a business relaunch, a mature start-up, and be able to work autonomously, supported but not reliant on the business in executing their sales strategy.
Growth Opportunities:
- Drove the identification and positioning of new business opportunities, including markets, customers, partnerships, or new products and services.
- Developed and executed strategies to successfully reach new business and vertical opportunities.
- Built and maintained relationships with new clients, developing proposals to address their business needs.
- Ensured critical thinking when planning to guarantee project success.
- Created accurate sales forecasts and worked towards reaching them.
- Taken ownership of the opportunity process, working closely with the sales and services teams to ensure success.
- Provided valuable insights into Haylix's products and services, as well as the competitive landscape.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 - 4 years' prior industry-related business development experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Open-minded and outcome-focused.
- Experience with methodologies such as Sandler Selling System, Challenger Sale, or Solution Selling.
- Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies.
- Excellent written skills, able to position commercial and technical solutions.
- Proven ability to produce effective sales and account execution plans.
- Must engage with customers in-person when possible.
- Exceptional communicator both internally and externally.
- The ability to engage and sell ideas, products, and services to customers.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
- A strategic and creative mind.
- Proven ability to build and develop relationships with clients and partners.
- Proven experience communicating with mid-level, senior, and C-level stakeholders.
Preferable Experience:
- 2+ years' experience in cloud solution business development on either Azure or AWS cloud.
- 2+ years' experience working strategically with the channel partner ecosystem.
- Extensive experience selling and building relationships in the Australia and New Zealand market.
