Communication Specialist Opportunity

As a dedicated professional, you will provide assessment, therapy, and support to individuals with communication impairments or speech impediments. This role offers flexibility and the chance to work with a diverse client base.

The Role:

  1. Assess patients with communication impairments, including speaking, listening, language comprehension, reading, and writing; or speech impediments such as stutters arising from various causes.
  2. Develop individually tailored plans with evidence-based intervention within your scope of services.
  3. Provide quality clinical opinions and justification through comprehensive report writing and completing funding application reports.
  4. Communicate effectively with service providers, administration staff, and case referrers.
  5. Refer patients to other multi-disciplinary service providers as necessary.
  6. Complete clinical notes at the end of each workday and provide prompt written reports/progress letters/treatment requests to relevant parties.
  7. Provide training and ongoing clinical assistance to Team Members.
  8. Liaise with representatives of Diverse Employment Management and the Leadership Team.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills are essential.
  • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or eligibility) is required.
  • Eligibility for registration with Medicare is also necessary.
