Job Description

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor position plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational fleet is properly maintained to support the delivery of waste removal and cleansing services across the community.

This exciting and challenging role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations across multiple service units, including Street and Beach Services and Waste Management services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance, servicing, and repairs to operational fleet in a dynamic environment. They will diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, components, electrical, and fuel systems.

The role requires a strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance with government departments. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining and updating asset service documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance, servicing, and repairs to operational fleet
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, components, electrical, and fuel systems
  • Maintain and update asset service documentation
  • Minimise running costs by undertaking preventative maintenance work
  • Source parts and external service contractors as required
  • Attend off-site vehicle/plant breakdowns as and when required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Trade qualifications and experience in the service and maintenance of heavy plant and equipment, passenger vehicles, and small plant and equipment.

Strong organisational skills to achieve the objectives of the position.

Ability to perform complex diagnostic procedures on all vehicle systems and determine appropriate maintenance and repairs.

Understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance with government departments.
