Student Support Specialist Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified professional to provide student support and wellbeing services at a public school.

The successful candidate will be based at the school and provided with opportunities to work across the lifespan with both primary and high school aged students. They will collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people, including those from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based interventions for students, demonstrating an understanding of their mental health needs.
  • Conduct assessments of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and carers to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Be a registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the relevant governing body.
  • Able and willing to travel between worksites.
