About the Role

This position combines passion with purpose, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and children.

The Senior Social Worker will lead and deliver high-quality early intervention services, working closely with families facing complex challenges. The role involves providing trauma-informed case management and support, as well as supervising and mentoring social work students.

A key aspect of this position is conducting needs-based assessments and developing tailored case plans. Collaboration with internal and external services is also essential, along with advocating for clients across various systems.

In addition, the successful candidate will provide outreach support, maintain accurate case documentation, and respond effectively to crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver trauma-informed case management and support to families.
  • Supervise and mentor two social work students.
  • Conduct needs-based assessments and develop tailored case plans.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with internal and external services.
  • Advocate for clients across housing, legal, and welfare systems.
  • Provide outreach support and maintain accurate case documentation.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Social Work (essential).
  • 3-4+ years' experience in casework.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Social Work students (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of trauma, mental health, AOD, and DV issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • NSW Driver's Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle.
