Senior Practitioner Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Intensive Bail Initiative Team in Mount Isa. This role involves working with families who have come into contact with the youth justice system, providing them with tools to thrive.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality programs
  • Coach, train and develop colleagues to increase skill and competency for high-quality service delivery
  • Build operational stakeholder relationships critical to program success
  • Coordinate staff caseloads and program logistics, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and child protection
  • Maintain a caseload of clients
About You:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or significant experience working in a similar service
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
  • Strong understanding of the Youth Justice system, orders and bail obligations
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and develop a team, as well as work effectively in a team
  • Ability to utilise your skills, knowledge, understanding, and experience working with families that are living with trauma to influence and guide practitioners to ensure safe and ethical practice
  • Proven experience in applying a trauma-informed and strength-based approach with a focus on service user advocacy and network engagement
