About the Role

The Federation of Community Legal Centres Victoria is seeking a strategic and operational People and Culture Specialist to join their Senior Management Team. As the standalone HR role in a small organisation, this is an exciting opportunity to influence and lead the people and culture functions and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert and confidential advice, coaching and support to Federation managers and staff to enable a positive and engaged workforce and consistent, best practice approaches across the people function.
  • Deliver organisational culture initiatives and people management activities, including drafting, implementing, and reviewing policies to meet the Federation's compliance and governance obligations.
  • Support organisational and individual wellbeing, and implement effective workforce planning and recruitment processes.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of people and culture principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver people and culture advice, support, and operations, including advising and supporting the resolution of people challenges, the application of awards and agreements, and technical capability across the employee lifecycle.
  • Sound experience in the delivery of organisational culture and development initiatives.
  • Ability to take a leading role in maintaining a positive, strong workplace culture.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including a calm, people centric and ethical approach and the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people effectively and professionally.
  • Strong written communication, including the ability to synthesise information and draft documentation to a high standard.
  • An ability to think strategically while considering practical solutions and perspectives.
  • Flexible, adaptive, and able to work effectively in a small team.
  • Strong commitment to social justice, and values alignment with the Federation.
