Expert Palliative Care Practitioner

This role requires advanced clinical leadership and expertise in palliative care occupational therapy.
About the Position
- Provide senior-level clinical guidance within the Allied Health Palliative care service, including optimization of patient care delivery, and mentoring and development of staff.
- Manage a clinical caseload of patients across the lifespan with complex needs, approaching or at end of life in the community or inpatient settings across the Far West Local Health District (FWLHD).
- Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of occupational therapy services to palliative care patients across the FWLHD.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary palliative care team to develop key performance indicators for quality improvement and research initiatives.
Key Requirements
- Must hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, eligible for AHPRA registration, and have at least 3 years post-graduate clinical experience in a relevant field. Current class C NSW driver's licence or equivalent.
- Evidence of advanced clinical skills and demonstrated experience in palliative care occupational therapy.
- Demonstrated negotiation, decision making, and advocacy skills, including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage autonomously across diverse clinical settings.
- Ability to initiate and lead quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation.
- Experience in clinical supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students.
