Job Opportunity: People and Safety Operations Leader

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as a People and Safety Operations Team Leader. This pivotal role plays a critical part in enhancing the employee experience by delivering effective HR administration processes.

This key member of the leadership team is responsible for leading and coordinating operational processes across the employment lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, supply management, contract administration, reception, and payroll.

  • Lead a broad range of operational processes across the employment lifecycle.
  • Enhance the capability and reputation of the People and Safety function through a results-driven approach.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of administrators through process design, training, and development opportunities.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Collaborate with other leaders on innovation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships internally and externally.
  • Build team capacity by identifying professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the outsourced payroll function to ensure compliance with industrial instruments and policies.
  • Identify and implement operational process improvements to enhance customer experience and workflow efficiency.
  • Apply knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, Policy, and Legislation to provide advice and guidance.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the role.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Degree or diploma qualification in HR/IR/ER or similar disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Proficient use of HRIS systems, Microsoft, and Google Suite applications.
  • Ability to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
  • Physical capability to perform the role safely.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Prior experience leading a multi-function team and/or recruitment team.
