Women's Anaesthesia Specialist Opportunity

This is a part-time position as a medical consultant in women's anaesthesia at a major public health service in Adelaide. The role requires providing specialist anaesthetic, acute pain, and resuscitative services for obstetric and gynaecological patients.

The key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Providing pre-anaesthetic patient preparation and participating in pre-anaesthetic clinics.
  • Offering pain relief services for labouring women.
  • Delivering anaesthesia for elective and emergency O&G surgeries.
  • Supervising and training anaesthetic registrars in line with the ANZCA curriculum.
  • Ensuring patient care aligns with evidence-based best practices.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated expertise in obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia.
  • Experience in a large public hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
