Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner/Midwife to join our team at Echuca Regional Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of our community health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice
    • Provide comprehensive general practice and midwifery nursing duties to our patients, including chronic disease management, preventative screening, and patient education.
    • Work collaboratively with GPs, obstetricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Community Health
    • Conduct home visits and provide health education to patients, promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
    • Collaborate with community agencies and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and services.
    • Develop and implement community health programs, focusing on maternal and child health, chronic disease management, and health promotion.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with current legislation, clinical guidelines, and best practices in general practice and midwifery nursing.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development, including workshops, conferences, and online courses, to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines for community health services, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with organizational values.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, respect, and open communication.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
    • Contribute to the development of organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring they are aligned with organizational values and community needs.
    Requirements
    • AHPRA registration as a registered nurse and midwife.
    • Current Driver's Licence.
    • Current criminal record screening.
    • Current Working with Children Check.
    • Continuing professional development in accordance with national registration requirements.
    • Sound knowledge of the general practice environment and its relationship to the broader health sector and local community health priorities.
    • Demonstrated patient-focused, goal-orientated approach to service provision.
    • A commitment to continuing quality improvement and maintaining accreditation standards.
    • An understanding and working knowledge of issues related to Aboriginal Communities.
    • A commitment to and an understanding of Aboriginal cultures and values.
    • A proven ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal people.
    • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic computer skills.
