Electrical Engineering Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

This role involves ensuring safe and efficient electrical engineering operations. Key responsibilities include performing maintenance, repairs, and safety checks on electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient electrical engineering operations.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and safety checks on electrical equipment.
  • Identify faults and implement solutions using trouble shooting skills.
  • Arrange installation and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Conduct tests of electrical systems related to production machinery and systems.
  • Maintain a schedule for maintenance and repairs.
  • Report production turnout and downtime.
  • Coordinate staff and ensure safety compliance.
  • Assist electrical engineers as needed.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Ensure EH&S daily, weekly, and monthly checks are completed.
  • Mentor and coach trainees.
  • Analyze costs for parts repair or replacement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated in electrical technology or trade certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience managing diverse teams or shifts in remote environments.
  • Familiarity with blow/injection moulding processes.
  • Ability to use computers, radios, phones, and other devices for work outcomes and reporting.
  • Exposure to high-pressure work environments.
  • Physically capable of performing the role.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
