Commodity Insights Specialist

We are seeking a Commodity Insights Specialist to bridge the gap between market intelligence and trading.

The successful candidate will deliver real-time insights, conduct in-depth fundamental analysis, and inform trading strategies by synthesizing data from global markets, domestic Chinese trends, and macroeconomic indicators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed macroeconomic and geopolitical analysis on Chinese and global commodity markets.
  • Track regulatory developments and government policy globally and within China that are relevant to commodity trading.
  • Identify, monitor, and evaluate upcoming catalysts for the commodity markets we trade.
  • Generate trading ideas based on expected volatility and direction.
  • Monitor supply/demand trends, inventory levels, shipping flows, policy changes, and other market-moving factors.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a commodities-focused analytical role.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong understanding of Chinese commodity markets and macroeconomic factors.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data handling, modeling, and visualization.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or other market intelligence platforms.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
