Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a transcription specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality transcripts within tight deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transcribe audio files accurately and efficiently with an average turnaround time of 24 hours.
  • Proofread all transcripts meticulously before submission to ensure no errors or omissions.
  • Utilize supporting documentation and contextual information to guarantee the accuracy of your transcriptions.
  • Maintain up-to-date glossaries and terminology resources to enhance the quality of your work.
  • Engage in cross-training on various jurisdictions and adapt to new areas of expertise as directed.
  • Develop familiarity with audio playback platforms like Liberty, FTR, and VIQ, ensuring seamless integration with our existing workflows.
  • Stay abreast of production tools (TOPS/macros) to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Meet and exceed productivity expectations set by management while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Foster strong communication with colleagues and supervisors to address any concerns or questions.
  • Collaborate with the monitoring team to receive feedback on audio quality and logs, utilizing this information to refine our processes.
  • Act promptly on feedback from QA Lead Analyst or Transcript Manager regarding quality or productivity.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects to support business growth and development.
  • Attend regular performance reviews with the Transcript Manager to discuss progress and goals.
  • Complete annual security and compliance training to maintain the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Be flexible with working hours if required, understanding the importance of meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively according to company requirements.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to safe work practices at all times, and complying with company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
  • Demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 75 wpm, with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Exhibit excellent English vocabulary and grammar skills, with the capacity to understand complex documents.
  • Display good general and local knowledge, enabling informed discussions and contextually accurate transcriptions.
  • Possess exceptional hearing and comprehension, allowing for accurate interpretation of audio content.
  • Be computer literate, with proficiency in software applications relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork skills, working effectively with colleagues to achieve common objectives.
  • Exhibit flexibility and responsiveness, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Highlight a keen eye for detail, ensuring meticulous proofreading and error-free output.
  • Hold a high school diploma, with six months to one year of basic office administration experience preferred but not required.
