We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Water Officer to join our team at the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water. As a Senior Water Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the sustainable management and use of water resources in Queensland.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and investigate water entitlement performance, breaches of entitlement conditions, complaints, and disputes relating to all water resources and riverine matters regulated by the department.
- Carry out regulatory audits and inspections to determine the extent of development and usage of water resources within catchment areas.
- Advise management and project teams on resource management issues through the preparation of briefs and correspondence, as well as representing the department in community forums.
- Communicate effectively with staff, management, clients, industry representatives, and the general public in providing water management and compliance services.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who has a strong understanding of water management and regulatory compliance. Previous experience as an authorised officer under the Water Act 2000 or other legislative framework/s would be highly regarded. Manual driver's licence would be highly regarded. Travel away from the centre may be required.
