Job Title: Assistant Manager

Location: Sydney, AU

Job Overview

This role is responsible for leading a team of cinema staff and overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy cinema. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervisory roles within retail, food service, or hospitality environments.

  • Operational Responsibility: Assist in monitoring and enhancing customer service activities at the location. Full knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Support the General Manager in controlling day-to-day operations in accordance with current policies, procedures, and legal compliance.
  • Assist in movie session scheduling with the General Manager and film programmer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and motivate a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Develop and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to establish effective supplier and third-party relationships.
  • Ensure the cinema presentation and cleanliness meet company standards.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Duty Managers and team members to ensure their success.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to facilitate the recruitment, induction, and training of team members.
  • Support the General Manager in performance management and employee development.

Revenue and Financial Responsibility:

  • Contribute to achieving revenue budgets and analyzing operating statements to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to review profit and loss statements and implement strategies to drive growth.

Customer Service:

  • Focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences through consistent quality service.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure employees are equipped to handle customer feedback.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years' supervisory experience in a retail, food service, or hospitality environment.
  • Previous experience with sales figures preferred.
  • Experience in achieving sales targets.

  • Team-oriented and customer-focused individual with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
