Job Title: Communications And Media Officer

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that will see you working as part of a collaborative team to deliver communications and media services to our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Communications Advisors in providing professional communications and support, including internal and external events, stakeholder engagement, publications, and online content design and development.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills in developing materials on complex issues, editing and reviewing materials prepared by others.
  • Build effective relationships across the agency to influence outcomes and support delivery of outputs that meet the needs of the agency.
  • Exhibit exceptional teamwork, assisting other communication areas as required, supporting the wider work of the section.
  • Work independently, leading on projects, with limited direction within established priorities, practices, and processes to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Manage and deliver on multiple activities and projects simultaneously, demonstrating agility to move between priorities to support the section or the agency.
  • An awareness of emerging trends in communications and the ability to provide advice to business areas on options and proposed solutions to communication issues.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma from an Australian tertiary institution or a comparable overseas qualification, with a major in journalism, public relations, or communications.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Well-developed written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong relationships building skills, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Personal drive and integrity.
  • Flexibility and resilience to achieve results in a dynamic work environment.
  • Effective time management and coordination skills to manage multiple projects within changing priorities, ability to work independently.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and take advantage of opportunities and address potential issues.
