Animation Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced Animation Team Lead to join our project at the Moving Picture Company. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with Maya in 3D/feature animation and excellent understanding of film language, storyboards, and the layout process.

The Animation Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of animators, reviewing and offering feedback on their work, and providing technical assistance as needed. They will also work closely with the leadership team to develop the animation style of the production and assist in the interviewing process for animation recruitment.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, be willing to help train artists, and have a willingness to adapt to an established studio pipeline and tools created for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the leadership team to develop the animation style of the production
  • Manage a team of animators, review and offer feedback on their work, and provide technical assistance as needed
  • Assist in the interviewing process for animation recruitment
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of film language, storyboards, and the layout process

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Maya in 3D/feature animation
