About the Role

The Policy Officer will be responsible for preparing and maintaining documentation for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes. They will also contribute to the achievement of project outcomes, support effective decision-making, undertake research, evaluation, and analysis, communicate with key stakeholders, and coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes;
  • Contribute to the achievement of project outcomes;
  • Undertake research, evaluation, and analysis to identify emerging issues and prepare recommendations;
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations;
Requirements
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC);
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education;
  • Experience in working in a policy environment, including policy analysis, development, and review;
  • Sound understanding of the policy process;
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and reporting on stakeholder engagement;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sound organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively;
  • Adaptability and ability to operate effectively in a complex, sensitive, and changing environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail;
  • Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development;
