About the Role

This is a high-profile opportunity to join Lanson Partners as a Technical Business Analyst in the Financial Markets industry.

The role involves working on a new program of work for a leading client, with an estimated salary of $850-$950 per day. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of trade lifecycle processes, FIX protocol, flow technologies, and the tools underpinning trade execution, Order Management Systems (OMS), and Execution Management Systems (EMS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and document transition strategies from current to strategic processes, including interim stages where required.
  • Analyse process flows, data models, and system events to facilitate smooth transitions to target states.
  • Create business requirements, including functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document technical and business requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, manage constraints, and align on project requirements.
  • Contribute to test strategy and review scenarios, ensuring business requirements are met.
  • Partner with IT solution providers for ongoing project updates and to address potential challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of business analysis experience on Agile, Lean, and Waterfall projects.
  • Extensive experience in financial markets and understanding of trade lifecycle workflows.
  • Strong expertise with FIX protocol, including message configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with APIs (design, testing, and integration).
  • Deep knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS) and Execution Management Systems (EMS).
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Business Analysis Certification (e.g., IIBA CBAP).
  • Skilled in business process modelling, preferably using MS Visio or similar software.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
