We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Strategy Analyst to join our Group Capital Strategy & Ratings team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing QBE's global capital strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the multi-year Group strategic capital plan, working closely with Group and Divisional teams.
- Conduct forecasts and planning in relation to the Group's regulatory capital metrics, balance sheet, and dividends.
- Identify and support the execution of initiatives to optimize capital consumption and allocation, including traditional and alternative capital providers.
- Conduct financial modeling to assess the impact of strategic initiatives on key Group metrics, including debt and equity capital markets issuances, strategic reinsurance transactions, investment portfolio decisions, and other non-standard corporate transactions.
- Support engagement with the Group's credit rating agencies, including the preparation of presentation materials and financial analysis of rating agency metrics.
- Manage the preparation of key rating agency capital models, both actual and forecast, and develop key insights from a commercial and reporting perspective.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating submissions to the Group Board and executive management, including the CFO Board reports.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in capital management, corporate finance, or investment banking. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the APRA regulatory capital framework and/or equivalents in other jurisdictions, as well as strong financial modeling skills and the ability to clearly convey the rationale and impacts of strategic initiatives.
The following skills and capabilities will be highly regarded:
- Good understanding and knowledge of the APRA regulatory capital framework and/or equivalents in other jurisdictions.
- Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet understanding for a general insurer.
- Strong financial modeling skills, coupled with an ability to clearly convey the rationale and impacts of strategic initiatives.
- A good understanding of global financial market and economic conditions, given the breadth of the geographic footprint.
- Demonstrated expertise within the insurance industry is advantageous.
