Key Role Summary

The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a pivotal part in overseeing the day-to-day operational efficiency of the Front Office, Reservations, and Night Audit functions. This position is responsible for supporting the Front Office Manager in upholding brand service standards, enhancing profitability, and meeting or exceeding guest and team member needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Front Office Manager to manage Front Office and Reservations operations effectively.
  • Ensure seamless guest arrivals and departures, adhering to established procedures and prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain liaison with the Reservations office to guarantee accurate room allocation and maximize yield.
  • Promote a high level of guest service, fostering satisfaction through pre-stay, during stay, and post-stay feedback, and assessment of guest satisfaction surveys.
  • Prepare detailed Front Office reports, commenting on key company performances and forecasts.
  • Ensure management presence is visible on Front Desk and in the lobby during peak times throughout the day.
  • Support the Front Office Manager in creating and implementing department training plans to drive performance and engagement within the front office team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, enabling confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship, and networking abilities with all levels of team members and guests.

A calm and professional demeanor is essential, coupled with effective conflict resolution and complaint handling skills.

Demonstrated business acumen is necessary, along with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications.

Excellent time management skills are required, allowing for multitasking while maintaining a high awareness of surrounding activities.

An outcome-driven approach to performance and results is essential, striving to achieve excellence.

At least 5 years of relevant experience in the hotel industry, including experience supervising, training, and motivating team members, is required.

A strong background in Front Office procedures and Opera PMS, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office, is necessary.

Certification in First Aid & CPR, and Responsible Service of Alcohol or Responsible Manager of Licensed Venues (RMLV), or the ability to attain them, is mandatory.

Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional overnights, including weekends and Public Holidays, is required.

Unlimited work rights in Australia are necessary, as Sponsorship for this position cannot be offered.
