The role of a Safety Coordinator is essential in ensuring the workplace remains safe and compliant with relevant systems and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring compliance with safety protocols within the work environment
- Conducting thorough research to develop and implement effective safety policies specific to the project
- Assisting workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes by providing support and guidance
- Investigating incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend improvements
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive reports and documentation concerning project safety programs
To excel in this role, applicants should hold a CertIV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification, along with experience in construction safety management. Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative risk assessment, as well as monitoring of risk controls, is also crucial.
