**About this role**

This is a part-time position for an Educational Leader to join our team at Daisy Hill Outside School Hours Care. The YMCA Queensland stands for a society that is fair, just and healthy for all.

We are seeking an individual who will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning.

  • Lead the development and implementation of the educational program with support from Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator
  • Ensure children's learning and development inform the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development;
  • Liaise effectively with parents, staff and internal and external stakeholders;
  • Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices;
  • Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice, including how to reflect on effectiveness and interactions;
  • Ensure compliance with policy;
  • Undertake administrative requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

**Requirements**

We are looking for someone with:

  • A Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education;
  • Sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
  • The ability to coach and mentor others;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning;
  • An understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning;
  • A working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of leadership styles;
  • Critical thinking skills, including analysis and challenge of conventional practice and ideas;
  • First Aid and CPR Certification;
  • A Blue Card.
