Job Title: Telecom Network Specialist

About the Role:

The Telecom Network Specialist will be responsible for designing, deploying and managing IP networks within the telecom domain.

  • Network Planning and Deployment:
  • Plan, design and deploy IP networks within the telecom domain to meet business requirements.
  • Device Configuration and Management:
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls and other network devices to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Network Security:
  • Implement and maintain security policies to protect network infrastructure and data from unauthorized access.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues to maintain network stability and performance.
  • Documentation and Standardization:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures and policies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with IT professionals and stakeholders to meet network requirements.
  • IP Address Management:
  • Audit and manage IP addresses to ensure proper allocation and usage.
  • Network Performance Monitoring:
  • Track network performance, identify bottlenecks and optimize configurations to enhance system stability and security.
  • Network Upgrades and Maintenance:
  • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades and patching to enhance system stability and security.
  • Security Measures:
  • Implement safeguards to protect infrastructure and data from unauthorized access.

Requirements:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering or a related field.

Certifications such as Cisco are highly regarded.

Key Skills:

IP Protocol Knowledge: Strong understanding of IP protocols, networking concepts and technologies.

Network Design and Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing IP-based telecom network architectures.

Data Center Expertise: Familiarity with data center fabric technologies.

Troubleshooting Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively diagnose and resolve network issues.

Security Knowledge: Understanding of network security principles and technologies.

Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
