We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our organisation as a Financial Operations Specialist. This permanent, full-time role is based in Sydney, Australia.

The Financial Operations Specialist plays a vital role in the operation of our organisation, providing financial and administrative support to key stakeholders. Reporting to the Business Operational Leader, you will contribute to the success of the business by managing its finances effectively.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all payroll functions in accordance with organisational standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to compliance obligations through data analysis and advice provision to the Business Operational Leader.
  • Process accounts payable data entry, creditor reconciliations, and manage queries.
  • Reconcile daily bank accounts and process funding reconciliation.
  • Manage fortnightly workforce payrolls and superannuation entitlements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivables, including invoice processing.
  • Prepare accurate monthly revenue and expense reports.
  • Oversight of financial statements, invoices, proposals, and other related documents.
  • Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely.
  • Update and record financial transactions properly.
  • Maintain data integrity in all financial reporting.
  • Process cheque payments and EDI/EFT payments.
  • Process receipts, prepare billings, and direct debits.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong financial acumen, reporting capabilities, and experience with accounting software, particularly MYOB.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in a finance/accounting role.
  • Mandatory MYOB experience.
  • Strong financial knowledge and skills, including accounting principles, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of financial data for a growing organisation working with multiple ledgers.
  • Able to interpret award conditions and obligations.
  • Familiarity with State legislation and GST requirements.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage time and achieve set deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
